Learn More About Past Presidential Hopefuls During This Interesting Exhibit

Ever wondered what might have happened to those who almost became President? Candidates who ran for the nation’s highest office and lost are the focus of They Also Ran: The Presidential Hopefuls, a new traveling exhibit at the Old State Capitol running until March 2nd, 2019.

From war heroes to unsuccessful incumbents to historical firsts, They Also Ran: The Presidential Hopefuls give guests the chance to speculate what could have happened if election results had been different.

Some of these candidates gave the eventual winners a run for their money and influenced the race. Some returned later and won, but there also were perennial losers. The exhibit features the often-neglected candidates’ stories through original cartoons, sheet music and memorabilia.
